'Super Industrial Lining Pvt. Limited ' Supplies Various Dry HCl gas generation plant based on different capacities ranging from 5kg./hr. to 300 kg./hr.

 

Process Specifications:

  • 30% HCl and 98% Sulphuric acid are fed to the Mixing Zone by the metering pump or from Overhead tank through Rotameter depending upon the customer requirement and site height availability.
  • The HCl and H2SO4 feed are mixed prior to entry into the Reaction zone (Falling Film Tubular Heat Exchanger).
  • The spent Sulphuric acid from the bottom of the Falling Film Tubular Exchanger is cooled in the Heat Exchanger, prior to discharge. The Liquid Cooler uses cooling water for cooling duty.
  • The HCl gas generated in the Falling Film Tubular Heat Exchanger comes in contact with Conc. H2SO4 in the Drying Zone (Dehydrating packed column) Initial drying of the HCl gas takes place in this section. HCl gas from the top of the Dehydrating column is passed through Sulphuric Acid trap to minimize the moisture content in HCl Gas.

 

There are no moving parts in the entire system. The utility requirements, as well as floor space requirements for the Plant, are minimum.

 

All the wetted parts of the system are fabricated from corrosion resistant materials (glass/PTFE) for the process conditions envisaged.

HCl –Hydrochloride Gas Generator-Calcium Chloride Route

Hydrochloride gas is useful for Several Applications such as Hydrochlorination of Bulk drug to make product water Soluble , also required in an anhydrous state for critical reactions where moisture cannot be tolerated.

Dry Gas is available in Cylinders which was quite costly and found handling problems while passing gas in the reactor .

Several methods have been adopted by industries for HCL Gas Generator. But generation by Sulphuric Acid Route and Boiling Route are commonly practiced. We offer Calcium Chloride Route for HCL Gas Generator.

Hydrochloric acid and water form a maximum boiling point azeotrope at 11O°C corresponding to a concentration of 20.24%; HCl. By adding concentrated CaCl2 solution to commercial hydrochloric acid ;azeotrope point is eliminated and. the entire HCl becomes available for liberation by distillation.

PROCESS DESCRIPTION:

The above principle- is achieved in practice by feeding metered quantities of commercial HCl and CaCl2 -solution to a stripping column with a steam heated reboiler at the bottom. The effluent from a bottom of the column is a dilute acidic calcium chloride solution which is concentrated to desired Concentration in an evaporator and re-used. The vapor leaving is condensed stage wise with cooling water and chilled brine as the coolant. The relatively dry gas passes through a mist eliminator and to the point of consumption.

Supplies Various Dry HCl gas generation plant based on different capacities ranging from 5kg./hr. to 300 kg./hr.

30% HCl is fed to the unit continuously by the Pump or through Overhead tank depending upon the customer requirement and site height availability. 20-21% Azeotropic HCl/Water mixture is formed into Thermosyphon Reboiler by boiling 30% HCl. By product 20-21% spent Hydrochloric acid is continuously discharged from the bottom of the stripping column. The 20% spent HCl is cooled by an acid cooler prior to discharge into an intermediate spent acid storage tank.

The condensation system at top of column consists of :

Cooling Water Condenser Chilled Water Condenser Chilled Brine Condenser

Chilled Brine is to be provided to remove the moisture from the HCl gas. If chilled Brine is not available, a Sulphuric acid trap is to be provided to remove the moisture from the gas generated. The Product Dry HCl gas is discharged at atmospheric pressure and goes to downstream equipment.
